The Alaska Real Estate Commission (AKREC) is the state entity who renews your real estate license.
Do not wait until the last minute to renew your license! All real estate licenses that have not been renewed by January 31st will lapse on February 1st. You cannot practice real estate with a lapse license.

Each licensee is required to complete at least 20 hours of continuing education (CE) during each biennial licensing period. This includes 8 designated hours (DCE) and 12 elective hours (ECE). The approved topics for the licensing period of February 1, 2024 to January 31, 2026 are:
